Learn to Skate skaters have the option of participating in the annual HFSC Winter Ice show. This year’s theme: Home for the Holidays! THIS YEAR skaters will practice their show program for 2- 50 minute sessions. The practice dates will be separate from lesson time.

·        November 22: 12:10-1pm

·        December 6: 12:10-1pm

*No Show practice on November 29.

ICE SHOW DATES:

Dress Rehearsal: Saturday, December 12 2:00pm

Show Day Sunday, December 13: 1:30pm arrival, 2:30 SHOWTIME

Why should my child participate in the ice show?

Skaters choose to participate in ice show performances for a variety of reasons, the most common of which are to have FUN, display creative talents and enjoy this unique, entertaining, and artistic aspect of the figure skating. Ice shows put the expressive, choreographic, and musical interpretation aspects of skating at the forefront. Skaters participating in these events benefit greatly as they not only work on improving skating skills, but also improve expression, poise, eye contact and musical interpretation ability on the ice. Group performances also incorporate teamwork and cooperation between young skaters. THIS IS TRULY GREAT FOR ALL AGES AND LEVELS- EVEN BEGINNERS!

·         Skaters who choose to participate in the Learn to Skate USA /HFSC show practice are committing to practicing the group routine and performing in the ice show (meaning make every effort to attend each practice, rehearsal and show).

·         Skaters who choose to participate in the LTS USA HFSC Show will practice and perform with combined color/level groups selected by LTS coaches.

·         The show participation fee is $50.00. The show fee includes 2 tickets to the ice show for parent/s ($20 value). 

·         Skaters are responsible for purchasing/ providing their own costumes based on the simple requirements.

·         Returning this year, skaters will practice for the full ice time with their color groups. Due to some key dates we are offering show practice as a mini session this season. WE ARE SO EXCITED FOR THIS! It gives skaters more time with their group members and more access to the ice surface. Skaters will be grouped by level and learn and practice a group routine for the show. They will also work with their peers to create something fun and professional to perform!

·         Skaters will be grouped by November 19th and all participants will receive an email about groups and costumes.
